Road Trip Day 1

We started our trip at Liz's house to celebrate Lily's first birthday.

Lily is tipping her hat to all of you demonstrating her one-year skills.

Liz is overjoyed at her new vase.

Dad and Mom got on the road about 10 a.m. We had lunch at a 100 year old cafe in Price called Fairlano's,which is famous for its made from made from scratch curly fries and sausage sandwiches which we tried.  Delicious.

Then on to Grand Junction where we checked in at the Two Rivers Winery and Chateau, a bed and breakfast.
This is me standing in front of the Chateau.  They had a lot of wine bottles in our room with a price
list.  I think they thought they would make some big bucks by selling us wine, but we fooled them and didn't buy any.

After unloading we took off for the Colorado National Monument just a few miles away.

Then we returned to Grand Junction where we had dinner at Il Bistro Italiano where I tried gnoche for the first time.  Good stuff.  Mary had chicken marsala.  That ended day one.  It was a pretty good start to our trip.

More to come on day 2.  I'm sure you are breathlessly awaiting our report.
