Road Trip Day 2

Hi and welcome back for day 2 of our fabulous road trip.  We started from Grand Junction, Colorado and headed east on I-70.  Between Glenwood Springs and Eagle we saw some great scenery.  The freeway there is billed as the most famous section of the interstate highway system.  I guess they say that because of all the bridges, tunnels, and cantilevered roadways in order to get the freeway through the narrow canyon.

We tried to stop at Vail to see the town and have lunch.  Vail, in case you didn't know, is probably the biggest, most famous, and most expensive ski resort in the country.  There are hotels, condos, buildings, and ski lifts everywhere.  But there was also major street construction, and no place to park.  All the eating establishments appear to be in the resorts and hotels.  Anyway, after construction delays and parking problems, we headed on down the road and ate lunch in Frisco. 


We arrived at Rachel and Jeff's apartment about 5:00 p.m. after experiencing some of Denver's delightful weekend rush hour traffic.  It was Isaac's 2nd birthday.  See pictures below.

It was great to see Rachel and Jeff; Isaac and Anna.  So ends day 2 of the great adventure.  See you tomorrow.
